NEW FROM STROMBERG - an e-FIRE distributor for your Gen I/II Chevy Small Block or Big Block engine - with reliable electronic ignition and vacuum advance. Unlike a bulky HEI, the e-FIRE distributor looks like it belongs on your traditional hot rod motor. Check out the old-school black cap (with female plug wire terminals), vacuum advance and the old-school ID tag on the side. Installation is quick and easy - just two wires to your 1.5 Ohm coil - with no need for a separate black (or red) box. And no hassle with points or condensers either. Inside the precision CNC machined aluminium body you’ll find a sealed top bearing (stainless steel ball ) and an oilite lower bushing for long term stability. We’ve developed and tested the advance curve for optimal Chevy performance and drivability, and the centrifugal advance limit can be adjusted to your needs. The vacuum advance canister hooks up to any ported vacuum supply - including the Stromberg 97 with a VP base or our BIG97 Primary. Just like every other Stromberg e-FIRE distributor, it’s machine tested at the factory before boxing and delivered ready to run right out of the box.

Fits the following engines:
Small Block Chevy (SBC) – All traditional Gen I engines (262, 265, 283, 302, 305, 327, 350, and 400 cubic inch blocks and their derivatives).
Gen II (LT1 – LT4) – A traditional, rear-mounted distributor can only be used on a Gen II SBC Chevy as part of a major conversion to carburetion or aftermarket EFI. Please check application before purchase.
Big Block Chevy (BBC) – Most standard-deck engines (396, 402, 427, and 454 cubic inches). Does not fit heavy-duty ‘tall deck’ or W-series 409 Big Block engines. Please check application before purchase.
Does not fit LS-series (Gen III, IV, and V) small block engines.
NOTE: the e-FIRE distributor comes with a hardened cast iron drive gear. Please ensure that this distributor gear matches your camshaft requirement (typically, a cast iron gear for flat-tappet cams, or a bronze/composite/steel gear for steel billet roller cams). Always check with your camshaft supplier.
NOTE: Must be used with a points style coil only. We recommend the Stromberg 44 1.5 Ohm coil – available to purchase separately. DO NOT use a low-resistance (less than 1.5 Ohms) or HEI-style coil.
