Push Throttle Shaft Kit
£33.55
Early Ford pedal linkages pull the carburetor open. Lincoln Zephyr and some Mercury pedals (eg. ’49 to ’51) push it open. So if you want a Stromberg 97 on your Lincoln or Merc, you need an LZ (push) throttle shaft. Comes complete with new stainless steel bushes and four brass throttle plate screws.
Note: A multiple 97 set-up (eg. a 3×2), only needs one LZ throttle shaft – on the carb connected to your pedal.
Another note: If you’re replacing your old Holley 94 type carburetor with a new 97, just use the stock 97 (not the LZ). Yes, the 94 throttle lever does point downwards (like our LZ) to confuse you, but the pedal linkage still pulls backwards. You guessed it. The 94 opens clockwise. The 97 goes counter-clock.
